Local Moving within Massachusetts is a move where origin and destination addresses are within 50 miles of each other.

Charges on this type of move are based on an hourly rate for the van and driver and an hourly rate for each additional mover.

If your move is a first floor apartment between one and three rooms with no appliances or pianos, generally a van and two men would handle this type of move.  If your apartment is above the first floor or you have between 3 and 8 rooms it is best to ask for a van and three men.

Eight rooms plus would require a van and four men. Actually, the more men you use, the less time you are paying for the van.

• Van and Driver Rate...........................$65.00 per Hour

• Each Additional Mover Rate.......................$35.00 per Hour

Time begins when our van arrives at your origin residence and continues on while our men load the van, travel to the new residence and unload the van. When unloading is completed the clock time stops.

In addition to the above we will add Travel Time Charges which help cover the time our men are in transit to your home and back to our facility after the move is complete.  Rather than charge "portal to portal" for that time which can change based on traffic or weather conditions we charge a flat rate "based on mileage between the two residences as follows:

0-5 miles..................................1/2 hour travel time

6-15 miles..................................1 hour travel time

16-25 miles...........................1 1/2 hours travel time

26-35 miles...............................2 hours travel time

36-50 miles...........................2 1/2 hours travel time

Over 50 miles is considered an Intrastate Move and charges will be based on our weight and mileage rates.

Generally, you can plan on about 1 to 1 1/2 hours per room, total time on an hourly basis.
